Coaching Proficiency

Recognizes practitioners who consistently deliver professional coaching engagements across diverse clients and contexts. The accredited individual applies the full coaching arc with mastery: enabling mindset shifts, exploring options, and anchoring committed action through conversational processes.

Requirements

1-hour accreditation interview. The candidate must: - Provide evidence of at least 2 years of professional coaching practice (or 1 year if continuously mentored by an ACA Accredited Coach), across different clients and contexts. - Answer 2 questions on coaching competencies in complex situations: managing transference and projection, working with resistant or stuck coachees, and knowing when to refer or escalate. - Provide evidence of at least 5 sustained coaching engagements (multi-session), each with session records showing the progression of the coachee's thinking and the evolution of their commitments over time. - Present 1 case study of a full coaching engagement (3 or more sessions): the initial situation, how the coaching arc developed, the mindset shifts observed, the actions committed to, and the outcomes. - Provide evidence of using at least 3 distinct coaching skills (e.g., deep listening, powerful questioning, silence, metaphor, somatic awareness, articulation, or reflecting back) across different sessions with documented examples of their impact. - Provide evidence of operating within a recognized professional coaching framework or code of ethics (ICF, EMCC, or equivalent). - Share at least 3 self-improvement goals grounded in patterns observed across their coaching practice.
