Agile Developer Proficiency
Recognizes practitioners who consistently apply agile engineering practices across team contexts with independence. The accredited individual contributes to technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and customer-driven development.
Requirements
1-hour accreditation interview. The candidate must:
- Provide evidence of at least 2 years of experience as a developer in agile teams (or 1 year if continuously mentored by an ACA Accredited Coach).
- Answer 2 questions probing judgment in technical agile situations: trade-offs between speed and quality, managing technical debt, or handling conflicting engineering priorities.
- Provide evidence of consistently applying Test First or iterative design principles across multiple contexts (examples from different projects or teams).
- Provide evidence of contributing to a Continuous Integration strategy and an overall testing approach (not just execution, but design of the approach).
- Present 1 case study of how they embedded quality at both individual and team level: what practices were adopted, how they were sustained.
- Answer 1 question on how they approach customer collaboration in their development work.
- Provide evidence of establishing early feedback loops in at least 2 different contexts.
- Provide evidence of structured knowledge sharing within the team (documentation, workshops, pair programming programmes, etc.).
- Share at least 3 self-improvement goals grounded in observed patterns in their practice.
