Product Owner Skills

Recognizes practitioners who have demonstrated foundational Product Owner capabilities in real product contexts. The accredited individual can manage a Product Backlog, define goals, and participate effectively in Scrum events under supervision.


Requirements

45-minute accreditation interview. The candidate must: - Provide written evidence of at least 3 months of supervised experience as a Product Owner (written recommendation from a supervisor holding AOE-PO or equivalent, or at least 25 hours of mentoring by an ACA Accredited Coach over a minimum of 1 month). - Answer 4 questions on Scrum knowledge covering: Events, Product Owner accountability, Artefacts, and Commitments. Answers must demonstrate practical application. - Provide evidence of participation in at least 1 Sprint Planning, 1 Sprint Review, and 1 Sprint Retrospective (notes, photos, or written account of their role). - Present one real Product Goal and one real Sprint Goal they defined or contributed to, explaining the reasoning behind each. - Present one real example of Product Backlog prioritization: what criteria were used and how items were ordered. - Share at least 2 specific self-improvement goals as a Product Owner grounded in real situations they faced.
