Facilitator Excellence

Facilitator Excellence

Recognizes practitioners who have demonstrated mastery in facilitation, including designing and leading high-stakes, large-scale, or transformational group processes. The accredited individual enables systemic dialogue, builds organizational facilitation capacity, and creates conditions for lasting collective change.

Requirements

1.5-hour accreditation interview. The candidate must: - Provide evidence of at least 5 years of professional facilitation experience (or 2 years if continuously mentored by an ACA Accredited Coach), including large-group, cross-organizational, or high-stakes facilitation contexts. - Answer 3 questions requiring systemic reasoning: designing for emergent outcomes, facilitating across organizational power dynamics, and building organizational facilitation capacity. - Provide evidence of having designed and facilitated at least 2 large-scale or cross-organizational processes (e.g., Open Space Technology, large-group interventions, strategic planning workshops with senior leadership, multi-team events) with documented collective outcomes. - Present 2 case studies of facilitating transformational group processes at team or organizational level: the design rationale, how complexity was managed, what emerged, and what changed in the organization as a result. - Provide evidence of having mentored or developed at least 1 other facilitator, describing the development process and outcomes. - Provide evidence of having designed a facilitation approach for a novel or unprecedented organizational challenge where no standard method was adequate. - Share self-improvement goals that reflect a systemic view of facilitation mastery and organizational impact.
