
Agile Developer Excellence
Recognizes practitioners who have demonstrated the ability to lead technical excellence across teams and organizations. The accredited individual shapes engineering culture, mentors other developers, and creates systemic improvements to development practices.
Requirements
1.5-hour accreditation interview. The candidate must:
- Provide evidence of at least 4 years of experience as a developer in agile teams (or 2 years if continuously mentored by an ACA Accredited Coach), across multiple teams or organizational contexts.
- Answer 3 questions requiring systemic reasoning about engineering culture, technical strategy, and enabling team-level technical autonomy.
- Provide evidence of leading or co-leading a technical practice adoption initiative (TDD, CI/CD, pairing, etc.) beyond their own team, with documented outcomes.
- Provide evidence of a Continuous Integration and testing strategy designed at team or organizational level, not just followed.
- Present 1 case study of systematically embedding quality culture at individual and team level over time, with before-and-after evidence.
- Answer 1 question on their philosophy and approach to customer collaboration in development.
- Provide evidence of establishing and sustaining feedback loop mechanisms across at least 2 different teams.
- Provide evidence of cross-team knowledge sharing initiatives they led or designed.
- Present 1 case study of enabling a culture of technical excellence in an organization: what was the situation, what they did, what changed.
- Present 2 case studies of guiding teams or individual developers to grow technically and professionally.
- Share self-improvement goals that reflect a systemic view of engineering leadership.
